In March of 2022, Officers John Burdsall and Michael Sheehan attempted to assist a male reportedly in crisis. Upon their arrival, the male immediately engaged them in a gun battle. Many law enforcement agencies responded to assist that early morning and subsequently the male was wounded and taken into custody.
On Thursday, May 18th, DA Kevin Steele presented medals of valor to both officers for their actions during that critical incident.
