On Thursday evening, June 26th, Eagle Scout Candidate Nate Eddy with BSA Scout Troop 7155 Trappe presented UPTDFES Station 68 (and other fire companies) with 5-foot rescue poles designed and created by the Troop as part of Nate’s Eagle Scout Project.
On Thursday evening, June 26th, Eagle Scout Candidate Nate Eddy with BSA Scout Troop 7155 Trappe presented UPTDFES Station 68 (and other fire companies) with 5-foot rescue poles designed and created by the Troop as part of Nate’s Eagle Scout Project.
The poles are marked in 1-foot increments and can be used by first responders for water rescues and ice rescues. Nate also presented ice awls that first responders can use to crawl and move on the ice.
Troop 7155’s charter is with Trappe VFW Post 7155. Thanks Nate for this innovative Eagle Scout project that is now on many fire and rescue apparatus in the area.
Rescue poles and ice awls were also presented to Collegeville Fire Company, Lower Frederick Fire Company, Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Royersford Fire Department, Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Company, Friendship Fire Company Diving-Rescue Unit, Phoenixville Fire Department and Trappe Fire Company No. 1.
