[ARCHIVED] Tom Broadbelt Celebrates 30 Years with Upper Providence Township

Tom Broadbelt,

Tom Broadbelt, Upper Providence Township's Public Works Director, recently celebrated his 30 year anniversary of employment. Tom started his career with Upper Providence Township in November of 1994 on the road crew.  He was appointed Public Works Director in November of 1999.  At that time there were just five employees. With the expansion that Upper Providence Township has seen, Tom now manages 14 employees in his department. During his tenure, Tom has seen Upper Providence Township grow from 60 miles of road to close to 90. He also notes that when he first started there were four traffic signals and now there are 38.

Tom is a graduate of Perkioman Valley High School and worked previously for Schwenksville Borough as Superintendent of Sewer and Water. He also worked for the Valley Forge Sewer Authority.

When Tom is not working he enjoys collecting antique classic cars and attending car shows. He has hosted the Upper Providence Township Car Show for the last three years. The favorite in his collection is his 1970 Chevy Chevelle. He also enjoys vacationing and spending time in Ocean City, MD.

Tom and his wife have lived in Limerick for 28 years. They have two daughters, 4 granddaughters and a 16 year old mini dachshund named Charlie.

We thank Tom for his dedicated service to the residents of Upper Providence Township. Stop by the Public Works Office and congratulate Tom on his successful career with Upper Providence Township!
