NOTICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER PROVIDENCE
The Board of Supervisors of the Township of Upper Providence will meet on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 7:00pm at the Township Municipal Campus, located at 1286 Black Road, Phoenixville, PA, to consider enactment of the ordinance summarized below. The complete title of the proposed Ordinance is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF UPPER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP AMENDING CHAPTER 220-1 TO FURTHER CLARIFY PERSONS WHO ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE LICENSING REQUIREMENTS THEREIN; CREATING A NEW SECTION 220-11, AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A “DO NOT SOLICIT” LIST FOR PEDDLERS AND SOLICITORS TO WHOM THE ORDINANCE IS APPLICABLE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND SEVERANCE AND REPEALER CLAUSES
Section 1 amends Chapter 220-1.B(4) by deleting the existing language and replacing it with language pertaining to canvassers enlisting support for or against a particular religion, philosophy, ideology or political party. Section 2 adds a new Chapter Section 220-11 entitled “Do Not Solicit Registry.” Sections 3, 4, and 5 contain the severability, inconsistencies, and effective date clauses.
