Upper Providence Awarded a Green Light Go Grant

Green Light Go Grant

PennDOT has awarded a Green Light Go Grant to Upper Providence Township to replace the traffic signal at Doe Run Boulevard and Route 29 at the entrance to Quest and GlaxoSmithKline.  The grant award totals $399,101 and requires that the Township contribute a 20% funding match toward the estimated $478,921 project cost.  We anticipate that the project will be completed before the end of 2023.

About the Green Light-Go Program: Pennsylvania’s Municipal Signal Partnership Program, also known as the “Green Light–Go Program”, is a competitive state grant program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Established by Act 89 of 2013 and revised by Act 101 of 2016, the program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Bureau of Maintenance and Operations.
