A truck lost part of what they were hauling causing a small hazardous materials spill. A large industrial battery system fell from the truck, broke open, and spilled approximately 5 gallons of battery acid. The truck, which never stopped, is being sought.
Weighing in at 1500lbs., the Township Public Works Department assisted in up righting the battery to prevent further spillage; and helped load the battery onto a truck for recovery.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident and could provide a description of the vehicle is asked to provide the information to the Fire Marshal's Office.
